Helping patients achieve more youthful eyes or a reshaped nose are some of the ways Botox, Juvederm and Radiesse can be used beyond the brows. These methods are useful for the person that is not keen on making permanent changes to their appearance, as Dr. Nikolaidis says “they opt for off-label uses of injectables that deliver results.”
The recommendations include a non-surgical necklift with Botox; treatment of décolletage (chest) lines with Botox; more youthful hands thanks to Radiesse; a non-surgical nose treatment with Juvederm; and more youthful-looking eyes courtesy of Juvederm.
Botox for off-label purposes can tighten skin that has been wrinkled or aged by the sun. Dr. Nikolaidis states that Botox injections in tightened and separated bands in the neck to relax them for a more youthful look. Cosmetic damage to one’s chest due to sunlight can be smoothed out with Botox as well, as “these lines are merely an indication of photo-aging of the indicated area of the skin and can be eliminated with the appropriate injection.”
Dr. Nikolaisis is enthusiastic about off-label uses for other fillers as well. Radiesse is practical for reducing the appearance of veins and bones in one’s hands, with injections into fascial space (between subcutaneous tissue and muscles) that last up to two years. Juvederm is great for filling in small bumps in one’s nose as well as the valleys between the cheeks and eyes. He says that uneven skin and wrinkles can be diminished “for a smooth vibrant look.”
